The company was based in San Diego, California, and videos were featured on GirlsDoPorn.com and pornography aggregate websites such as Pornhub. The website became one of the most viewed channels on Pornhub, with approximately 680 million views. In 2016, 22 plaintiffs filed a lawsuit alleging intentional misrepresentation, fraudulent concealment, unlawful and fraudulent business practices, and the intentional infliction of emotional distress against the co-owners and other individuals involved with GirlsDoPorn. According to lawsuits and testimonies, women who responded to fake modeling advertisements on Craigslist were contacted by “reference girls,” who pretended to have had positive experiences shooting videos for the company. Some participants were promised payment of up to $6,000 to have sex for 30 minutes on camera.
