It’s a name that evokes terror, even 25 years after the fact: Henry Louis Wallace. Between May 1992 and March 1994, this serial killer murdered 10 young black women in Charlotte, North Carolina. Wallace was apprehended and convicted of all ten murders in July 1996. His trial would set legal precedent in the state for capital punishment trials. In this blog post, we’ll explore the life and crimes of Henry Louis Wallace, including his arrest and conviction for these horrific crimes.

Who is Henry Louis Wallace?

Henry Louis Wallace was a convicted serial killer who committed the murders of young black women in Charlotte, North Carolina between May and March. He was arrested and charged with six counts of first-degree murder in April, after DNA evidence linked him to the crimes. Prior to his arrest, Wallace had been working as a security guard at a local mall.

Wallace pleaded guilty to the murders in September and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In November, he was additionally sentenced to death for the murder of one of his victims, 21-year-old Deborah Sykes.
